Delhi- Kashmir & Amarnath Yatra - 9 Days
Journey from the UK to the Mystical Landscapes of India
Our journey began with a flight from the UK to Delhi, where we arrived in the morning, eager to explore the vibrant capital of India. After clearing immigration and collecting our luggage, we transferred to our hotel for a brief rest. In the afternoon, we visited the stunning Akshardham Temple, a marvel of modern architecture and a tribute to ancient Indian culture. With its intricate carvings and spiritual ambiance, this temple provided a serene start to our adventure. We spent the night at our hotel in Delhi, resting for the journey ahead. The next day, after an early breakfast, we checked out from our hotel and flew to Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Upon arrival, we transferred to our hotel and settled in. The following morning, we departed for Sonmarg, a breathtaking valley known as the "Meadow of Gold." The scenic drive offered stunning views of lush landscapes and majestic mountains. We spent the night in Sonmarg, preparing for the highlight of our trip.
Our journey took us from Sonmarg to Baltal, where we began our pilgrimage to the Holy Amarnath Cave. We took a helicopter to Panchtarni and then continued on ponies to the cave, nestled at 3,953 meters. The cave houses the ice Shivlingam, a revered symbol of Lord Shiva, drawing thousands of Hindu pilgrims every year. After receiving blessings, we returned to Panchtarni and then to Sonmarg for an overnight stay. The next day, we traveled back to Srinagar and explored the city’s famous gardens. Nishat Garden and Shalimar Garden, both laid out during the Mughal era, showcased beautiful floral arrangements and serene waterways. We also visited Chashme Shahi, a charming spring, and the historic Shankaracharya Temple, offering panoramic views of the city. In the afternoon, we had free time for shopping and leisure activities, culminating in a peaceful Shikara ride on Dal Lake. We spent the night in our hotel, soaking in the tranquility of Srinagar.
The following day, we embarked on a full-day tour to Gulmarg, one of the most picturesque summer resorts in the Kashmir Valley. The natural beauty and snowy peaks were captivating. We enjoyed a gondola ride from Gulmarg to Khilanmarg, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. In the evening, we returned to Srinagar and spent the night on a traditional houseboat, experiencing the unique charm of life on Dal Lake. Our final day in Srinagar began with a hearty breakfast before transferring to the airport for our flight back to Delhi. After spending one last night in Delhi, we checked out of our hotel and headed to the international airport for our flight back to London. Our trip was a mesmerizing blend of spirituality, natural beauty, and cultural richness, leaving us with unforgettable memories of India.
