Our guests began their journey from London with excitement building for a truly memorable adventure across the island of Sri Lanka. Arriving in the vibrant capital of Colombo, the tour started with a warm welcome and a relaxing introduction to the country’s tropical charm before heading inland to discover the cultural heart of the island.
The first major stop was Habarana, perfectly placed to explore some of Sri Lanka’s most remarkable historic sites. One unforgettable highlight was the safari at Minneriya National Park, where guests witnessed the incredible elephant gathering. Watching dozens of elephants roaming freely across the grasslands was a magical experience and a favourite moment for many.
History lovers were especially captivated by the ancient city of Anuradhapura, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Walking among towering stupas, sacred temples and the revered Sri Maha Bodhi gave guests a real sense of the country’s deep spiritual heritage. The next day brought another iconic highlight — climbing the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Reaching the summit rewarded everyone with breathtaking views across the surrounding jungle.
The journey continued through the historic ruins of Polonnaruwa before heading to the cultural city of Kandy. Here, guests visited the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and enjoyed a vibrant cultural dance performance that brought Sri Lanka’s traditions to life.
One of the most memorable experiences followed with a scenic train ride through misty mountains to Nuwara Eliya. Rolling tea plantations, cool mountain air and visits to a working tea estate made this part of the journey especially relaxing. The adventure then continued to the picturesque town of Ella, surrounded by waterfalls and dramatic landscapes.
The final days were spent unwinding on the golden beaches of Beruwala. A visit to the historic Galle Fort added one last touch of culture before guests enjoyed well-earned relaxation by the sea.
After nearly two weeks filled with history, wildlife, scenic beauty and warm hospitality, our travellers returned home with wonderful memories of their tropical Sri Lankan adventure.
