Our guests set off from London ready for an unforgettable journey through two of Southeast Asia’s most fascinating countries. The adventure began in the lively capital of Hanoi, where the blend of old traditions and busy city life immediately captured everyone’s attention. A rickshaw ride through the Old Quarter, visits to historic landmarks, and a traditional water puppet show offered the perfect introduction to Vietnam’s culture and heritage.

One of the most memorable moments came with an overnight cruise through the stunning limestone landscapes of Ha Long Bay. Cruising through emerald waters surrounded by towering islands felt like stepping into another world. Guests enjoyed kayaking, sunset views from the deck, and even a Vietnamese cooking demonstration before spending a peaceful night on board.

The journey then continued through central Vietnam, beginning with a visit to the remarkable Paradise Cave near Dong Hoi, one of the country’s most impressive natural wonders. In Hue, the former imperial capital, guests explored the historic Imperial City, ancient pagodas and royal tombs that tell the story of Vietnam’s past.

Travelling south through the scenic Hai Van Pass brought the group to the charming town of Hoi An. Its lantern-lined streets, historic merchant houses and relaxed riverside atmosphere made it a favourite for many. Highlights included visiting the ancient temples of My Son Sanctuary and walking across the famous Golden Bridge, held high by giant stone hands overlooking the mountains.

The vibrant energy of Ho Chi Minh City offered another perspective on the country. Exploring the historic Cu Chi Tunnels gave guests a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s history, while a cruise through the lush waterways of the Mekong Delta revealed a slower pace of life filled with floating markets and village traditions.

The final chapter of the journey unfolded in Siem Reap, gateway to the legendary temples of Angkor. Standing before the magnificent Angkor Wat was a truly special moment. Exploring the ancient city of Angkor Thom and the jungle-covered temples nearby made it clear why this region is one of the world’s great historical treasures.

After seventeen days of incredible landscapes, rich culture and shared experiences, our travellers returned home with wonderful memories and stories to last a lifetime.
