"Enchanting Sri Lanka: A Cultural Odyssey with Citibond Travel" - November 2024
Citibond Travel’s Sri Lanka tour on November 14, 2024, offered our guests an exciting mix of history, culture, and scenic beauty. The journey began with a visit to the stunning Royal Botanical Gardens in Kandy, a lush 147-acre park filled with rare plant species, beautiful palm avenues, and peaceful walking paths. From there, the group explored the Temple of the Tooth Relic, an important Buddhist site that houses the sacred tooth of Buddha. Guests marveled at the temple’s intricate architecture and vibrant surroundings. In the evening, they were treated to a captivating Kandyan cultural dance performance, showcasing traditional music, acrobatics, and dance.
The next day, guests were introduced to Sri Lanka’s spice heritage at the Matale Spice Garden. They learned about the cultivation and uses of various spices, including cinnamon and cardamom, before heading to a Batik Factory to see the intricate process of creating colorful fabrics. The afternoon included a delightful elephant ride in Sigiriya, where our guests had the opportunity to explore the region’s iconic landscapes from atop these gentle giants. The elephant ride, along with the serene atmosphere of the nearby villages, provided a unique and memorable experience.
