Splendid Classic Japan: Alpine Wonders, Timeless Culture and a South Korea Extension

This journey began with high expectations, and it delivered from day one. Landing in Tokyo, our guests stepped into a city that blends tradition and modern life effortlessly. From the sweeping views at Tokyo Skytree to the calm surroundings of Meiji Shrine and the vibrant energy of Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo set the tone perfectly.
The journey soon moved into Japan’s scenic heart. A visit to Mount Fuji offered that iconic view everyone hopes for, followed by the peaceful beauty of Hakone’s lakes and volcanic landscapes. Then came a true highlight — the breathtaking Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Travelling through dramatic mountain scenery, our guests experienced one of Japan’s most unique and unforgettable routes.
In Kanazawa, beautifully preserved districts and the famous Kenrokuen Garden offered a glimpse into traditional Japan. The charm continued in Takayama, where old streets and local culture created a slower, more intimate experience.
Arriving in Kyoto, the cultural heart of the country, guests explored iconic landmarks like Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kinkaku-ji, and the peaceful Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. A visit to Nara added even more depth, with its historic temples and friendly deer creating a memorable experience.
The tour wrapped up in Osaka, full of energy and colour, before a meaningful visit to Hiroshima offered a powerful and reflective moment.
For some guests, the journey didn’t end there. They extended their adventure to South Korea, starting in the vibrant capital of Seoul. From the modern skyline and views at Lotte World Tower to traditional neighbourhoods like Bukchon Hanok Village, Seoul offered a fascinating contrast.
A visit to the Korean Demilitarized Zone added historical insight, while the high-speed journey to Busan introduced coastal beauty, lively markets, and cultural landmarks such as Haedong Yonggungsa.
From alpine landscapes and ancient temples to modern cities and coastal charm, this combined journey through Japan and South Korea was packed with unforgettable moments.
